Turning Festivals: A New Era of Gospel Outpouring
Why Festivals?
The Turning began as an unexpected outpouring — a local church mission that erupted into a national move of God. Now, that same grace is finding new form: Turning Festivals. These are town or city focused evangelistic missions that mobilize local believers and churches to proclaim the gospel, reach the unreached, with the intentional aim of embedding annual mission into the culture of a community — not through a stadium, but through the vocational, heartfelt and personal calling in, schools, shops, offices, the arts, sciences and professions of your town and yes including the streets.

“It’s not revival yet — but it’s revival-shaped.”
From Reading to Lille, Swansea to Sunderland, we’ve seen what happens when ordinary believers are equipped and empowered. Nine-year-olds have led people to Christ. Teachers, shopkeepers, and retirees have become evangelists overnight. Streets have become altars. Cities have been stirred. And now, we believe God is inviting us into the next wave.
Five Foundations!
Unity in each locality: These Festivals are hosted in collaboration with local churches, ministries, unity movements, and the national Turning team.
Vocation or calling-Based Evangelistic teams: Over twelve month we train and plan with these vocational teams in preparation for the festival. We train believers using a simple, Spirit-led evangelistic guide.
A three-year goal : We want to change the culture in the locality and build and annual expectation for a mission so we commit to Three to five days of mission once a year for at least three.
Presence-Based Prayer & Worship : We begin each day in the presence of God — because this outpouring is not a program; it’s a move of the Spirit. Soaking, worship, and intercession create the spiritual atmosphere for breakthrough.
Discipleship & Follow-Up Strategy : Every team is required to work through the best follow up strategy for their focus group. The aim is to disciple starting with intentional efforts to connect, and integrate people into long-term relationships. Our model isn’t church growth — it’s growing disciples.
Five Expectations: What Impact Can We Expect?
Churches and towns that have hosted The Turning festivals have experienced:
A surge in gospel proclamation : Teams regularly pray with hundreds of people in a single week — many hearing the gospel for the first time.
New ministries raised up : Mission to Doctors and Nurses, Teachers, the military, youth, children and Businessmen. several types of teams have emerged locally. “We just didn’t know this was in us until now.”
New disciples — not just decisions: With Festivals, half those being reached have some kind of connection with us, making follow-up easier. And enabling churches to deploy serval follow up tools
Culture shift : Public spaces once closed to the gospel have become open harvest fields. “Even the staff at John Lewis queued to tell us what they experience through prayer!” was one extraordinary testimony we had in Reading.
100+ gospel encounters per festival: Our goal: that every festival has at least 100opportunites for people hear and respond to the gospel in their town during a Festival.
This is mass evangelism without the stadium. It’s not led by the pulpit but by the pew. And it’s working.
